Obviously, the simulation is not the be-all or end-all, but given the anticipation of the games, it's fun to run simulations and try to predict what might happen in the game.

While it was a little dicey at times during the UNC and Clemson games, Alabama pulled out wins to advance to their first-ever Final Four. What does the simulation say about Alabama and UConn?

The sim does not favor Alabama in this matchup. The average score of the 3,142 simulations is UConn 80.9 - Alabama 78.4. The coup de gras of the simulation though was the official prediction by the simulation, which had Alabama losing 81-80, with Mark Sears missing the buzzer-beating shot to send the Tide to the national championship on Monday night.

Alabama is used to dishing out heartbreakers in the desert, with the Crimson Tide snatching a 45-40 victory over the Clemson Tigers in the 2016 College Football Playoff national championship. A loss of 81-80 would sting Alabama men's basketball for a long time.

However, Alabama should not be counted out. The Tide won 47.8% of the time, so the simulation thinks Alabama has a decent chance. But, that is why the games are played on the court and not on a simulation.
