Mobile, Ala. - In December, Alabama added to an already strong wide receiver room by earning a commitment from Miami wide receiver Isaiah Horton. Horton, a four-star recruit in the 2022 recruiting class, signed with Miami as a 6-foot-3, 190-pound receiver.

Horton was the No. 3 receiver for the Hurricanes in 2024, hauling in 56 passes for 616 yards and five receiving touchdowns. He will join a wide receiver room at Alabama that is returning two superstars, Ryan Williams and Germie Bernard, who combined for 1,659 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in 2024. Horton's stats would have accounted for third in the Alabama receiving room in yards and second on the team in touchdowns.

Horton also averaged 11 yards per reception as a player who thrived taking advantage of slot opportunities and one-on-one matchups downfield.

Horton was able to succeed as the third option in a high-volume Miami passing offense. Alabama struggled in the passing game in 2024 but has the pieces to be successful in that department in 2025. Horton can be a strong compliment to the skillsets of Williams and Bernard, but what does Isaiah Horton bring to the table for Alabama?

While in Mobile, Alabama for the Senior Bowl, Miami wide receiver Xavier Restrepo and tight end Elijah Arroyo were asked about Horton and what he brings to the Crimson Tide's passing attack.

"What's there not to like," Restrepo said during media availability on Wednesday. "He's a one-on-one nightmare, matchup nightmare."

"He's dynamic, you know. He's a deep threat; he's one of those guys who will go up and get the ball. He's not scared of contact, he knows what he's doing, and he's a smart player," Miami tight end Elijah Arroyo said on Wednesday. "He's very detail oriented."

Off the field, Horton is doing everything he can to improve as a ball player as well.

"He is a great guy off the field as well. He's created some really good habits. Watching him in camp this past year, the guy is dangerous. He knows football, he understands football. Has great hands, great size, he has the deceptive speed. He might not look as fast, but trust me, Isaiah Horton can move."

"Cam [Ward] put a big emphasis with him on that this year in [Horton's] first year being a true starter. He went out and dominated," Arroyo said.

Horton also sounds like a good person to be around in the locker room as well.

"He's a contagious guy to be around. He's a super funny dude; never a dull moment with him. Again, he's super emotional about football, just a super contagious guy to be around," Restrepo added.

"Since he came in as a freshman, that guy has always been a hard worker," Arroyo said. "He deserves the year that he had this year, and I know he's going to go the SEC and continue to thrive."

"That's my guy. He's a great guy off the field; he cares about other people. A lot of people say receivers are kind of selfish primadonnas, but he's not that at all. He cares about us, and he cares about the team. He's very selfless," Arroyo added.

What is the next step for Horton as he prepares for his fourth season of college football, and his first with Alabama?

"I just think he has to keep on being consistent. There were highs and lows last year, but that guy is ready to take the next step," Restrepo said. "I talked to him recently, he's ready to roll up. You'll be seeing his face on ESPN a lot."

"Be right here," Arroyo said on Horton's next step. He anticipates Horton making a big impact and being at the Senior Bowl next season.

What would Restrepo consider to be Horton's biggest strength as a player?

"Whenever he is on the field, he is definitely a problem. Whenever the ball is hiked, and he is on the field, I feel like there is nothing more to say. I feel like he's dangerous; he's really dangerous.
