Former Alabama edge rusher Will Anderson Jr. worked his way into the NFL top 100 during his sophomore campaign with the Houston Texans, being named the 46th best player in the NFL in year two.

The Houston Texans drafted Anderson with the No. 3 pick in the 2023 NFL draft, where he won Defensive Rookie of the Year during his 2023 season, totaling 45 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, seven sacks, one pass breakup, and 22 quarterback hits during his rookie campaign. In addition to winning Defensive Rookie of the Year, Anderson was named to the Pro Bowl.

 

During his second season with the Texans, Anderson started 14 games, totaling 37 tackles, 11 sacks, 19 quarterback hits, 16 tackles for loss, two pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. Anderson was 14th in Defensive Player of the Year voting.

 

During his time with the Crimson Tide, Anderson was a monster headlining Nick Saban's defense. As a freshman, he helped Alabama claim the 2020 national championship.

 

During his three-year tenure in Tuscaloosa, Anderson totaled 205 tackles, 63 tackles for loss, 34.5 sacks, four pass breakups, one interception (pick-six), and one forced fumble.

 

In 2021, he had 102 tackles, 35 tackles for loss, and 17.5 sacks, earning him fifth place in the Heisman Trophy voting, the Bronco Nagurski Award, and being named an All-American.

 

In 2022, he won the Nagurski Award again while adding the Bednarik award, and was again named an All-American.
