So what are we looking for this time? Find all of your 1983 quarters. The mint mark we are searching for is the P. Which we all now know means it was minted in Philadelphia.

Once you have all of your 1983 quarters we need to look at the back side.  Look closely at the Eagle. There is a die crack that makes this coin so valuable. A die crack is exactly what it sounds like. A crack in the stamping die that makes the coin. These cracks make all coins more valuable. The bigger the crack the more value it adds.

So back to our 1983 quarter, look at the beak of the Eagle.  Do you see a line going from the bottom point of the beak to the wing of the Eagle?
