It’s no secret thus far that the 2023 Alabama Crimson Tide football team has struggled offensively. From turnovers to penalties, the Alabama offense has just seemed out of sync against good competition.

However, the season is just starting, and there may be a solution to the Tide’s scoring issue.

Roydell Williams was a driving force for the tide in Saturday’s game against South Florida. He averaged 7.6 yards a carry and 129 yards against the Bulls with one touchdown.

In the previous two games, Williams only rushed for a total of 48 yards. Williams even made an impact on his teammate Jermaine Burton with his performance on Saturday afternoon.

As reported by AL.com, Burton praised the effort from Williams against USF.

“Honestly, I’m really proud of Roydell,” Burton said.

“That’s just honestly the way he practices. To see it translate into a game is amazing. I just really want him to keep up what he’s been doing. He’s a great leader. He’s an energy, he’s a light bulb in the locker room. And I’m proud of him.”

Williams shared his own thoughts Tuesday and indicated the offence needed more variety.

“Balance, we got a lot of great guys up front. The running back room is loaded, any one of those guys can play. The receiver room, special guys out there. Speed, great hands out there with Ja’Corey (Brooks), Jermaine, Isaiah (Bond), all those guys are just elite athletes, and we would just keep it balanced.”

Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels come to Tuscaloosa on Saturday to take on the Tide, and we'll get to see first-hand if the “balance” exists in the offense. The game is set to kick off at 2:30 p.m. and fans can listen via Tide 100.9 FM or 95.3 The Bear FM.
