In a press release, WAWC Healthcare announced  Friday they will host their 2nd annual free BOO”bie” Exam event.

This event offers free clinical breast exams on October 31, 2025 from 8:15am-11:15am at 535 Jack Warner PKWY Suite I. It's designed to provide education, screenings, and resources to help individuals take proactive steps in protecting their breast health.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the United States, except for skin cancers. It accounts for about 30% (or 1 in 3) of all new female cancers each year. Early detection can save lives. Clinical breast exams, combined with awareness and education, play a critical role in identifying concerns at an early stage.

The event will offer free clinical breast exams performed by licensed healthcare professional Dr. Stephanie Mitchell, DNP, CNM, CPM, along with an educational on breast health, self-exams, and early detection. Community resources and support organizations will also be available .

“Breast cancer awareness isn’t just about wearing pink—it’s about taking action,” said Crystina Hughes in the press release. Hughes serves as the WAWC Healthcare Community Outreach Director.

“By providing accessible clinical breast exams and education, we aim to empower our community with the tools to protect their health.” “Last year we were able to assist a young lady with early detection of breast cancer; our clinic’s event was the starting point of her breast cancer journey. She is now in remission”

The event is free and open to the public. Just walk in and enjoy the event.
