This weekend the Greene County Historical Society's Annual Tour of Historic Places is taking place. Saturday, October 7 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, October 8 from noon to 5 pm.

The exciting tour showcases ten historic sites, with six of them being listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and an additional two sites listed on the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage.

Tour bracelets can be purchased at the Historical Society's Headquarters located at the Iredell P. Vaughn house from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday, October 7, or 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 8, according to the Greene County Historical Society.

The tour cost is $20 for adults and $10 for children under 12. Also, if your group is ten or more receive a reduced price of $15 per person.

In addition, you can join the Greene County Historical Society at the Iredell P. Vaughn house on Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. where you can enjoy a delectable selection of BBQ Pork, BBQ Chicken, or Trio Salad Plates for only $15. Each dinner comes with a refreshing drink and a tempting dessert. In addition, they will have an assortment of books and society memorabilia available for purchase. They accept cash, debit, and credit cards.
