After much ado and a multitude of suggestions, ESPN has finally settled on a "guest picker" for Saturday.

I thought the guest was supposed to have a tie or connection to the city the show is visiting that week.

Perhaps I'm missing something, but I'm unsure of the connection between this celebrity and Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Who gets the honors this Saturday at Bryant-Denny?

Theodor Capitani von Kurnatowski III is seriously his actual real name.

I understand why he went with Theo Von.

Theo was born in Covington, Louisiana, to a mom from the Midwest and a dad from Nicaragua.

In fact, his father was 67 years old when Theo was born.

He got his break in entertainment when he was cast for the MTV reality show "Road Rules."

Von was only 19 and faced lots of controversy due to his views on interracial dating, among other topics.

He said it was tough to shake the "former reality star" label and do comedy.

In fact, it took him years to finally break through because of the bias against reality TV stars.

Von is now considered one of the most influential digital voices in the USA.

I still don't understand his connection to Alabama, but I'm betting ESPN cared more about the ratings Theo Von will bring to the pregame show.
