
Hillshire Recalls 58M Pounds of Corn Dogs, Sausage Sticks
There has been a very big recall on a widely popular breakfast and snack item in Tuscaloosa. Millions of pounds of food recalled.

Recently, Hillshire Farms issued an official recall for approximately 58,000,000 pounds of corn dog and sausage on a stick products.
The reason for the recall according to the USDA, is that the products may be contaminated with extraneous material, specifically pieces of wood embedded in the batter.
The affected products were packaged between March 17, 2025, and September 26, 2025. The USDA states that the affected products have the establishment number “EST-582” or “P-894” printed on the packaging. They were sold online and shipped to retail stores across the nation.
School districts and Department of Defense facilities were also recipients of the affected products according to the USDA. It's noted that the distribution of recalled products were from commercial sales and not part of food provided by the USDA for the National School Lunch Program.
The recall comes after multiple consumer complaints, in total, five of those complaints involved injuries.
The Hillshire Brands Company conducted an investigation and determined that the wooden sticks entered the production process prior to product battering according to the USDA. The products affected by this recall should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. At this time, there is no clear word on if refunds are going to be offered.
