Snake Takes Out Power to Some Parts of Alabama
We live in Alabama, so we know the odds are we will see snakes, especially in the summer. We may see them in our yard or even in the attic or bathroom of our homes.
But we don’t expect them to take our power out, but that is precisely what happened in the Boaz area today. As reported by AL.com, over 1900 Boaz and surrounding area residents lost power around noon today.
AL.com noted that Boaz and surrounding areas are serviced locally by Marshall DeKalb Electric Cooperative. The problem was first considered an issue with the Tennessee Valley Authority, however it turns out that it was a local issue.

The culprit of the power loss was not what any expected; a snake decided it would be an excellent idea to slither into the Albertville Primary substation. Needleless to say it was a shocking experience for the snake and power loss for the residents.
