Risk Level and Areas
The Storm Prediction Center has the entire West Alabama area under a slight risk for strong to severe thunderstorms. This includes Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Perry, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, and Walker counties.
Threats
The National Weather Service in Birmingham said the primary concerns are for “damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph and quarter-size hail.”
James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist, said, “The air over North Alabama is relatively stable after the activity earlier this afternoon, but the overnight storms could produce some small hail and gusty winds. For now, the overall severe weather threat looks relatively low.”

Be sure to have multiple ways to receive weather information, as this active weather is expected to continue into the late hours of the night and early tomorrow morning.
Additionally, I will provide a detailed outlook on the Monday severe weather threat by Sunday morning.
