The Tuscaloosa Alumnae and Lambda Zeta Chapters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. are hosting an International Day of the Girl Child 2025 - Dignity Drive. This is a community initiative dedicated to providing girls in local public schools with access to needed feminine hygiene products.

The collection drive will take place on Saturday, October 11, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Temporary Emergency Services located at 1705 15th Street, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401. All items collected will support Tuscaloosa Public Schools.

According to the press release, “The International Day of the Girl Child (IDGC) aligns seamlessly with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.’s unwavering commitment to promoting human rights and advocating for women and girls across the globe.”

For 75 years, the Tuscaloosa Alumnae Chapter has championed service, global advocacy, and social action. Participation in IDGC continues this proud legacy. Through these efforts, they amplify the voices of girls, protect their rights, and support their futures, within the local community and around the world.
