Good morning West Alabama. It is Wednesday October 30, 2024.

Wednesday Morning Observations:

Looks like West Alabama will get few, if any benefits, from rain in the forecast tomorrow night into Friday morning. West Alabama will get the trick while Northwest Alabama will get the treat from Mother Nature.

There is a small chance of light rain southwest of Demopolis today and there will be a chance for showers and perhaps even a thunderstorm across West Alabama in advance of a front tomorrow afternoon. But most rainfall of any measurable proportions will be in the Shoals area and just southward. ABC 3340 Chief Meteorologist James Spann says Tuscaloosa and Birmingham to the south will see small amounts of rain, if any.

None of this is good news for West Alabama where tomorrow's National Drought Montior weekly release is expected to reveal continued spread of Moderate to Severe Drought conditions across the region.

There is some good news on the horizon. The National Climate Prediction Center 6 to10 Day Outlook is showing conditions leaning toward above normal precipitation during that period.
