The Townsquare Media Weather Center is monitoring West Alabama closely as a winter storm threatens the region.

Current thoughts include the Winter Storm Watch area, which is expected to see the heaviest accumulations, with predictions ranging from 2 to 4 inches of snow and sleet. Some isolated spots could experience even higher totals.

For locations south of the Winter Storm Watch area and north of Highway 80, lighter accumulations are anticipated, likely staying under 2 inches.
