I wish there had been an event like this when I was in high school.

What an incredible event this has become each year in our community.

WOW is the absolute best name for this event.

It stands for worlds of work, and it’s a career expo taking place today and tomorrow, October 9th.

Shelton State closes its offices and classes to ensure the campus is filled with vendors showcasing exciting career pathways for students and educators.

The displays are highly interactive and engaging for students, and for the first time, Shelton State and WOW are opening their doors to the entire community.

Today, Wednesday, from 2 PM until 6 PM. The doors are open to all interested parties who would like to stop by and explore.

In fact, some companies will be hiring at this event.

If you are looking for a great career, this may be the best opportunity of the entire year.

Worlds of Work has become nationally recognized, with over 4000 students attending and engaging in hands-on demonstrations with industry leaders.

The top companies in West Alabama are involved in WOW, and the career fields range from Agriculture, Construction, Engineering, Energy, Healthcare, and Hospitality to Cosmology and Public Safety.

Those are just a few of the career fields that are being showcased during the two-day event on the campus of Shelton State Community College.
