Kentuck Hosts August Art Market and Hands-On Workshops

Kentuck Art Center is inviting the community to tap into their creative side this August. There is a mix of hands-on workshops, artists' exhibitions, and family-friendly events.

Saturday Art Market

This Saturday, August 15, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., there is an Art Market at Kentuck at Queen City, located at 1901 Jack Warner Pkwy, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401. The press release said that it’s “located just across from the Tuscaloosa Farmers Market; this FREE event features local artists and family-friendly activities.”

The Drawing Table

Time: 4-5 PM

Location: Kentuck's Studio 2

Tuition: $15, all supplies included

Optional: Make an additional $5 donation, receive a glass of wine

“This weekly sketchbook class is designed to ignite imagination and creative flow by stretching your comfort zones with different prompts, topics, and materials,” said the press release.

Art Recess

According to the press release, “This class is for people who are interested in learning these concepts for the first time, or for someone wanting to deepen their knowledge and creative practice. Feel free to bring your lunch.”

 Printmaking: Gelli Prints

Date: August 20, 2026

Time: 6 - 8 pm

Tuition: $50, all supplies included

“This class will focus on the basics of Gelli printing, a technique where a one-of-a-kind design is painted on a gel plate and transferred to paper,” said the press release. “This technique is great for cards, one-of-a-kind art, and more.”
