The Croom Foundation, in partnership with CivicCore Solutions, has launched the Tuscaloosa County Home Energy Empowerment Initiative, with grant support from the Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance (SEEA). This program is also further supported by Habitat for Humanity Tuscaloosa, Alabama Power, and Tuscaloosa (69 South) Lowe’s.

The initiative is currently accepting applications from low-income households in Tuscaloosa County experiencing high energy costs or residing in older, energy-inefficient homes. The application period ends on Sunday, February 15, 2026.

The press release said that the “goal is to help reduce energy burdens, improve household comfort and stability, and connect residents to meaningful energy-efficiency resources.”
