Family Counseling Service Holds Charitable Chocolate Tasting
Family Counseling Service is bringing "Death By Chocolate," an annual chocolate tasting fundraising event, back to the Tuscaloosa River Market on Thursday, April 20.
Several local chefs and bakers will put their skills to the test and let the attendee's voices be heard via a vote on the best desserts. Award categories will include a winner for People's Choice, Chef's Choice and other various creativity-centered prizes.
Tickets are required for attendance, but all ticket proceeds from the event are donated directly to Family Counseling Service. The event will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and tickets are available for purchase at CounselingService.org.
The nonprofit organization founded in 1964 is aimed at bettering the lives of those in West Alabama with accessible individual, parent and family counseling needs.
“At the heart of Family Counseling Service is our united commitment to helping others improve their quality of life,” executive director of Family Counseling Service, Larry Deavers, said in a press release.
“Death by Chocolate provides a way to fund these efforts while engaging with our community. At the end of the day, who doesn’t enjoy a quality piece of chocolate for a meaningful cause?”
In 2022, River took home both the People's and Chef's Choice award. It'll join 11 others in the 2023 competition aiming to impress the event's voting crowd and selected judges.
