Nashville Man Accused of Extorting Pornography from Tuscaloosa Child
A Nashville man has been arrested and jailed in Tuscaloosa after he allegedly coerced a local minor into sending him explicit photos and videos.
According to court documents obtained by the Thread, the West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force launched and investigation in April after a Tuscaloosa mother contacted police about her child's interactions on a popular messaging app.
Police say 32-year-old Addison Lee Cook, a Nashville man, was in regular contact with a local adolescent and often requested sexual photos and videos from the child and allegedly exposed the victim to his own nudity.
Cook also reportedly threatened to share previously sent material with others if the teenager did not continue to send him more content.
On Monday, the investigation led police to arrest Cook and charge him with four felonies related to the allegations.
The Nashville man is charged with sexual extortion, producing pornography with a minor, electronic solicitation of a minor and transmitting obscene material to a child.
He is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail without bond, although his attorneys have filed motions asking for bond to be set.
