Restaurant, Pub and Sweets Shoppe Open Now at The Venue Tuscaloosa
Families can now experience a few of the amenities The Venue Tuscaloosa has to offer now that the new outdoor entertainment space is officially open.
When finished, The Venue Tuscaloosa will feature an ice cream shop with a drive-thru, a full-service pub and five restaurants which can be enjoyed in a fully-enclosed outdoor area that will regularly feature live entertainment.
Bryan Finison, the owner of The Venue, said the space is now open alongside three of its planned amenities -- Liza's Sweet Shoppe, Finny's Pub and Old Chicago Eatery. Finison said the four remaining restaurants are expected to open within the next month and a half.
Liza's Sweet Shoppe, which is named after Finison's daughter, offers ice cream, smoothies and anything for people with a sweet tooth.
Finny's Pub is a full-service pub with the spirit of a sports bar, featuring family decorations including baseball bats from Finison's son, a basketball goal from a local family and autographed sports posters.
Old Chicago Eatery was inspired by trips the Finison family frequently take to the Chicago area and features favorites of the Windy City, including pizza and Chicago-styled hotdogs.
The Venue Tuscaloosa is located at 6052 Watermelon Road, near Sokol Park. Patrons can visit the space Mondays through Thursdays from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Fridays and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m.
