University of Alabama Now Offering TSA PreCheck, A First for Tuscaloosa
Frequent flyers looking to skip lines at the airport can now enroll in TSA PreCheck right here in Tuscaloosa, thanks to a new offering from the University of Alabama.
UA's Passport Office will now offer TSA Pre-Check Enrollment, becoming the first Alabama college campus to do so and bringing the service to Tuscaloosa County for the first time.

PreCheck allows passengers to use a separate line at airport security and to keep shoes, belts and jackets on. Enrollees can also skip some rules about removing electronics and small liquids from their carry-on bags.
PreCheck Enrollment provided by CLEAR will come online at the UA Passport Acceptance Facility beginning tomorrow, December 3rd. The building is at 325 Kirkbride Lane on UA's campus.
Students, faculty, staff and community members can pre-enroll, book an appointment and complete enrollment there, gaining access to all the PreCheck travel perks.
“This is an exciting opportunity to serve both our campus community and Tuscaloosa as a whole,” said Campus Mail Executive Director Stacy Vaughn. “Providing access to TSA PreCheck on campus means easier travel preparation and greater visibility for UA as an innovative leader.”

Learn more, pre-enroll and book an appointment on their site here, although no appointment is necessary to visit the space in person and enroll there.
