Tuscaloosa Father Charged with Abusing Infant with Brain Bleed
A Tuscaloosa father was arrested this week and charged with aggravated child abuse after allegedly admitting to shaking his infant daughter, causing major injuries.
A deposition filed Wednesday said the alleged victim, who is under a year old, was found to have suffered significant internal injuries, including a brain bleed and two hemorrhaged retinas.
According to the charging documents, the girl's father, 31-year-old Shaquille Rashaun Lowe, confessed after he was read his Miranda rights to shaking the infant on two separate occasions at their apartment in west Tuscaloosa.
Lowe was arrested Tuesday and charged with aggravated child abuse, a Class B felony.
The Tuscaloosa resident was booked in the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where he is being held until a hearing with a judge to determine if he will be given bond and where it should be set.
