Tuscaloosa Mayor Maddox in Car Accident, Provides Update
Mayor Walt Maddox updated the public on his condition after a recent car accident.
Maddox explained via a post on Facebook that he was "involved in a car accident" Sunday evening.
CBS 42 reported that the crash took place "at the corner of Jack Warner Parkway and Hackberry Lane at approximately 5 p.m." The article also noted that the cause of the crash was "not released" at that time.
Maddox expressed his gratitude to Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue, the Tuscaloosa Police Department, and "several compassionate bystanders" who responded quickly to the accident.
The mayor revealed that the wreck resulted in minor injuries. "[I] truly feel fortunate to have only sustained a few bumps and bruises," said Maddox.
Nevertheless, Maddox paid a visit to DCH for a checkup. As of Monday evening, the mayor noted that "except for some soreness, I'm ready to get back to work and will be in the office tomorrow."
The mayor will appear live on the Steve and DC Morning Show later this week. Listeners can tune in Wednesday, August 9, at 8:10 a.m. on 95.3 The Bear to hear him speak on these recent events.
Maddox also has a town hall planned for Thursday, August 10, at 6 p.m.
