A 45-year-old woman from Winfield was killed Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle collision in Marion County.

Senior Trooper Gregory Corble, a spokesperson for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, said Amy Cochran was driving a 2000 Toyota Camry and collided with a 2014 Ford F-250 driven by a man from Hamilton.

The wreck happened around 5:40 a.m. Wednesday and took place on U.S. Highway 278 in Marion County, about six miles east of Hamilton.

Cochran, 45, was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The 51-year-old man driving the truck was injured and treated at Northwest Regional Health Hospital in Winfield.

No other information was available Thursday as Troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
