A common narrative I hear about community and law enforcement is that the two are disconnected. The community says that law enforcement doesn't know the needs of the community, or there could be better ways to serve their communities. The Jefferson County Sheriff's office is doing something about it and making an effort to bridge the gap. Tonight they kick off their community tour at New Life Interfaith Ministries to meet with community members to hear their concerns on how they can better serve you.

Here are the details from the Facebook Event Page,

We’re excited to host the Bridging the Gap Community Tour this Thursday at 6pm. Come learn more about the Sheriff's office and find out what is being done to better each community. We want to also hear from you on how each community can be made safer.
