A college basketball player from Alabama is making national headlines, not just for what he does on the court, but because of a name people can’t stop talking about.

Amillion Buggs, a player for University of West Alabama, recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel after the late night host highlighted some of the most unique names in college basketball.

During the segment, Kimmel joked about Buggs’ unforgettable name before bringing the Alabama athlete on for an interview.

“Yes, yes, I promise that’s my real name,” Buggs said during the interview. “Literally every conversation starts with ‘is that your real name?’”

Buggs also admitted that he sometimes uses a fake name at Starbucks just to avoid the conversation altogether.

Kimmel even  spoke about an endorsement opportunity with pest control company Orkin.

“Imagine you, Amillion Buggs, being the face of Orkin?” Kimmel said during the interview, according to Jimmy Kimmel Live.

While the name may have sparked the viral moment, Buggs has also contributed on the court for West Alabama. The junior forward appeared in 15 games this past season, averaging 2.1 points and 2.7 rebounds per game.

The Tigers also had a strong year as a team. West Alabama finished the season 27-6, climbed as high as No. 17 nationally, and won the Gulf South Conference regular season title before being eliminated in the NCAA Division II Tournament by University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Now, thanks to one unforgettable name and a national TV appearance, Buggs is getting attention far beyond Alabama.
