Alabama Governor Kay Ivey may be a lifelong Auburn fan, but she'll be rooting for the Crimson Tide Saturday after betting beer and barbeque in a friendly wager with Texas' governor on social media Friday.

As any football fan already knows, Bama travels to Austin this weekend for a much-anticipated matchup against head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott got aboard the hype train Friday afternoon when he took to Twitter and challenged Ivey to get some skin in the game ahead of the Saturday morning clash.

"I will bet you some of the best barbeque in America plus some ice-cold Lone Star beer that Texas will beat Alabama this Saturday in Austin, Texas," Abbott said in a short video. "Hook 'em, Horns!"

Ivey's press team must have known the wager was coming, because her response was posted to Twitter less than six minutes later.

She accepted the bet and even slipped in some shade about the Longhorn's much-publicized treatment of the Million Dollar Band, who will not travel for the game after learning that Texas only planned to allot them a few dozen seats in the nosebleeds of Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium.

"Although your fans will definitely be missing out on the tunes of the Million Dollar Band, I can guarantee the Crimson Tide is ready to roll," Ivey said. "I'll match your wager with an Alabama staple -- Archibald and Woodrow's barbeque and some of Tuscaloosa's best craft beer. I sure look forward to enjoying some Longhorn barbeque. Roll Tide!"

Hopefully, Tuscaloosa residents won't have to find out which of the city's two breweries Ivey considers the best and the governor finds herself sipping on a Lone Star sometime soon.
