Alabama Special Primary Election Is Days Away

Alabama voters participating in the upcoming special primary election have just days remaining to make sure they're prepared to cast their ballots.

The special primary election is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 11, with several important absentee voting deadlines approaching before Election Day.

Thursday, Aug. 6 is the final day for voters to apply in person for an absentee ballot, according to information provided for the election.

Voters who receive an absentee ballot and plan to return it personally have until Monday, Aug. 10 to return and vote that ballot in person.

Election Day arrives the following day on Tuesday, Aug. 11.

Those returning absentee ballots by mail should pay especially close attention to the deadline. According to the election information, mailed absentee ballots must be received by noon on Election Day in order to be counted.

With Election Day less than a week away, voters are encouraged to make their plans now instead of waiting until the last minute. That includes knowing where and how they plan to vote and making sure any necessary absentee voting requirements are completed before the applicable deadlines.

The Aug. 11 special primary gives eligible Alabama voters another opportunity to make their voices heard at the ballot box.
