If you’re looking for work in Tuscaloosa, several employers are hiring, and some opportunities could put extra money in your pocket just in time for football season.

The Tuscaloosa Area Career Center recently highlighted several openings available to local job seekers, while reminding residents that the center offers much more than unemployment assistance.

The center works to connect people with employment opportunities while also helping residents improve their skills and prepare for the workforce.

One of the immediate opportunities is a job fair for Helping Hearts Senior Care Tuesday August 18th. The hiring event will be held from 1 p.m. until 3:30 p.m., with no appointment necessary.

Opportunities are available for people with CNA experience, those looking to gain experience and individuals interested in sitter positions.

With Alabama football season approaching, the Career Center is also pointing job seekers toward temporary and part-time opportunities connected to the University of Alabama and game days.

Outdoor general labor positions connected to work at UA are among the openings, with starting pay of $16 per hour.

Horizon Auto Logistics is also continuing to accept applications following a recent hiring event.

Another option for those looking to make extra money during football season is Andy Frain Services. The company is known locally for the yellow-shirted staff working Alabama football games and other major events. According to the Career Center, positions offer competitive pay, and some opportunities include paid travel.
