If there's one thing people in Tuscaloosa love, it's food.

Even better, is new restaurants in the city.

Back in August of 2022, the Tuscaloosa Thread first reported a few new restaurants coming to Tuscaloosa.

One of which were We Dat's Chicken and Shrimp was said to be eyeing a location on the Tuscaloosa Strip.

According to Visit Tuscaloosa, We Dat's will in fact be located on the Tuscaloosa Strip inside the University Town Center.

A post on Facebook by Visit Tuscaloosa said:

We Dat's Chicken & Shrimp is coming to The Strip (University Town Center)!
JaMychal Green, Bama basketball star from 2008-2012, is bringing Cajun-style chicken, shrimp & catfish and loaded sides to match. Roll Tide and stay tuned for more details!
We Dat's touts themselves as using the best ingredients and preparing them with love. The restaurant serves chicken, catfish, shrimp, wraps & drinks.
A new Tuscaloosa location for the Louisiana-based restaurant would strengthen ties to the businesses, as former Alabama basketball star Herb Jones seems to be familiar with We Dat's.
He is seen taking a picture with We Dat's owner Greg Tillery on Facebook.
The Visit Tuscaloosa website mentioned that JaMychal Green will be at the helm of the new We Dat's location.

Along with chicken, shrimp, catfish and more, guests can take home spice mixes and sauces will also be available for sale.
