NFL Legend Talks to Alabama Football Team

Nick Saban continues the tradition of bringing in big-name speakers to visit with the Alabama football team during fall camp. Alex Smith, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, and Michael Phelps are some of the notable speakers he's brought in over the years.

Each year the series of speakers have a common theme in their messages to the team. The speakers chosen to talk this year all have a message to send about choices.

"Sometimes it's sort of character development. Sometimes it's also behavioral issues, which all come down to choices and decisions as well that can sidetrack your chances of being successful in the future because that's also very, very important," Saban said.

Future Hall of Fame wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is the latest superstar to speak to the team. He talked to the team about how he stayed motivated during his long football career.

'I love the process. I love watching film, I love to practice. I caught extra balls before practice, I ran routes with the quarterback after practice. I love the process. Then when the game came, it was really, really easy,’ Fitzgerald said, per Saban.

Fitzgerald played in the NFL for 17 seasons after being drafted by the Cardinals as the third overall pick in the 2004 NFL draft. During his NFL career, Fitzgerald recorded 1,432 catches (2nd), 17,492 receiving yards (2nd), and 121 touchdown catches (6th).

The wide receiver room appeared to spend some extra time with Fitzgerald. With Jameson Williams, John Metchie, and Slade Bolden gone, Bama will need new receivers to step up and replace the production lost from last year.

Alabama fans will see who those receivers are when the team opens its season against Utah State on Sept. 3 at 6:30 p.m.
