Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama is a Perfect Day Trip
I highly recommend making plans for a perfect day trip to Oak Mountain State Park located at 200 Terrace Drive, Pelham, Alabama 35124. I used to live in Pelham, Alabama when I worked in Birmingham radio from 1999-2013. Therefore, I am no stranger to Oak Mountain State Park. It has something for everyone, and it’s not a far drive because it’s not but a few miles south of Birmingham.
According to Alabama State Parks, “from its humble beginning as a 940-acre park atop Double Oak Mountain established by the Alabama State Lands Act of 1927, Oak Mountain State Park has grown to 9,940 acres making it Alabama’s largest state park. With the largest land-area, one of the widest varieties of outdoor activities of any state park.”
I really enjoyed the walking trails at Oak Mountain State Park, but when I say there is so much to do there, you really could go back many times and experience something new.
