Living in Alabama, I've learned that we have things in our stores that other people across the country only dream of having.

Originally, I'm from Florida and my mom always loved this one product. She'd literally buy dozens whenever she visited the grocery store.

In fact, I grew up losing this product only because my mom would always but it and cook it every morning.

Conecuh sausage!

I was shocked when I unexpectedly moved to Alabama and found out it's actually made in the Yellowhammer state.

One of my favorite things to do is FaceTime my mom back home in Orlando and show her the rows and rows of Conecuh sausage we have at our grocery stores.

Without fail, she'd get upset but every trip back home to Orlando I would make sure I bring her a few packs. It's gotten so bad that lately she's started sending me money to bring back even more than just a few packs of Conecuh.

After the second time, I asked her, "Why do you want so many?"

Aside from the obvious fact that she just loves conecuh sausage, she told me something that kind of made me nervous.

"There is no conecuh sausage at any stores in town."

I was so shocked when she said that. My first thoughts were that she had to be mistaken.

She further clarified, "I've been to at least 4 grocery stores that usually have conecuh and they've been out for a few months."

Is there some kind of Conecuh shortage?

Is it just a lack of drivers to deliver the sausages to other places outside of Alabama?

Luckily, I haven't found any signs of shortages in Alabama but hearing the there are none in other places where there is usually plenty makes me a bit nervous.

Much like my mom, I can't live without my Conecuh sausage.
