Theatre is Not the Only Place Where She Plays Many Roles, Meet Autumn Fuller

Autumn Fuller is a Phenomenal Woman of West Alabama 

“As someone who was lucky enough to have so many positive, strong, and fearless female role models in my life, I strive to do the same for my students, family, friends, and community. I want my students and community to know that, as women, we are able to go above and beyond the glass ceiling that societal norms have created. We, too, can be the lawmakers, teachers, CEOs, doctors, or even the next group of astronauts. Women’s History Month isn’t just about celebrating the phenomenal women who paved the way before us, it’s also about women empowering other women who are paving the way for our future. Women are the future.” - Autumn Fuller

Autumn Fuller is a 23-year-old teacher at the Tuscaloosa County High teaching theatre and English. She’s not an ordinary English teacher as she teaches students who don't speak English as their primary language. Autumn sacrificed her planning period so that she could take on another class English Secondary Language students when no one else would. 

Her heart for others compliments her career path as she goes above and beyond to teach, nurture, and love her students. She makes an effort to provide things that they may not receive at home by keeping her classroom stocked with snacks. 

Aside from teaching ESL students, Fuller also serves as the theatre teacher. Before she took over the theatre department at Tuscaloosa County High was almost obsolete. In August of 2020, she only has 30 students to work with and now she has helped the department grow to over 90 students. Currently, they are in production for the department’s first musical in over 6 years. 

Ms. Fuller herself is a theatre veteran in Tuscaloosa and has been doing theatre for the past 16 years for the Tuscaloosa Children’s Theatre, Theatre Tuscaloosa, and The Actor’s Charitable Theatre. She is currently cast as Sandy Cheeks in Spongebob the Musical with The Actor’s Charitable Theatre.

During the federal shutdown due to the pandemic, Autumn started her own business called Clayfully Unique, she makes and specializes in Polymer Clay Earrings. Her company can be found on Instagram and Facebook @clayfullyunique.
