The Yellowhammer State is filled with great African American leaders from the past, present, and future. We thank our West Alabama community partners, the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, Delta Phi Lambda Chapter, and the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Eta Xi Omega Chapter for their continued support.

Plychette Montgomery-Thomas is a Black History Maker of Alabama

It is a celebration of our cultural achievements and acknowledging the sacrifices of our ancestors that have made such a major impact on our nation and culture. It's inspiring, humbling, and empowering. It's food to the soul! It is imperative that we pay homage to those by paying it forward. We must continue to make black history, continue to create legacies, continue to set the bar, continue to sharpen one another and continue to exemplify excellence. -Plychette Montgomery-Thomas
