Members of the Tuscaloosa community are being invited to come together this weekend for a community prayer gathering following the recent death of Ada Chapman Doss at DCH Health System in Tuscaloosa.

According to a social media post from Whitney Neal, the event is being organized as a way for the community to show support for Doss’ family, friends, and loved ones during a difficult time.

The gathering is scheduled for Saturday, May 16 at 10 a.m. at Snow Hinton Park off McFarland Boulevard. Organizers said the event is expected to last around 10 minutes and community members are encouraged to attend as they are.

“This will be a community prayer gathering to support her family and friends and to let them know that Tuscaloosa cares and is thinking of them during this time of grief,” Neal wrote in the post.

Neal also said she believes it is important for the community to stand together in prayer and support during moments like this.

Pastor Matthew Wilson is expected to lead the community in prayer during the gathering.

The post described Doss as a loving mother, daughter, friend, and coworker whose life touched many people throughout the community.

Community members from Tuscaloosa and surrounding areas are being encouraged to attend and support the family during the gathering Saturday morning.
