Rival Restaurants in Row Over Restricted Naming Rights

A dispute between two similarly named Tuscaloosa restaurants is getting heated.

The Juicy Crab is scheduled to open in Midtown Village in Tuscaloosa later this month. The restaurant is part of a larger regional chain with locations in Georgia, Mississippi, Florida, Tennessee, and Texas. They announced their plans to open in the former Baumhower's Victory Grille location in May.

A new seafood with a similar name, T-Town Juicy Crab, opened last week on McFarland Boulevard. T-Town Juicy Crab is not affiliated with the Juicy Crab restaurant chain, and Juicy Crab recently reiterated the distinction between the two brands via a Facebook post.
