Saturday Evening Hurricane Dorian Update

This update is information provided at 8 p.m. (EDT) from the National Hurricane Center.  The NOAA and Air Force Hurricane Hunter aircraft reaffirm Dorain’s Category 4 strength.

As of right now, Dorian’s current track for Sunday through Monday is shaping up to affect the Abaco Islands and Grand Bahama.  The concerns are storm surge, hurricane-force winds, flash flooding.  Currently, they are under a hurricane warning. For portions of the Florida east coast, they are under a tropical storm watch.  The thoughts are that  Dorian will slow down and shift northward as it comes close to the coastline.  Also, there are concerns about storm surges for the coastlines of Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina as Dorian moves in that direction.

I will continue to monitor Dorian, but currently, Alabama should not be affected by Hurricane Dorian. - @MaryKRadio
