The National Weather Service in Birmingham's latest forecast calls for strong to severe storms across the state both today (Thursday, August 20) and tomorrow (Friday, August 21).

The NWS has placed the majority of our listening area under a Marginal Risk for severe storms this afternoon and into the evening hours. Storms could begin in West Alabama as early as 2 p.m. and continue until 9 p.m. Primary threats from today's storms could include damaging winds of up to 60 miles an hour and quarter size hail.

Storms are likely again throughout the day Friday, and the NWS also believes these storms could be strong to severe.
