Single Mom’s Oil Change Event Coming To Tuscaloosa
Being a parent is no joke with all of the expenses that come with it.
Clothes, random repairs to broken household items or even the house itself cause unneeded stress - and who can forget about those doctor bills?
According to a new Brookings Institution analysis of data from the U.S. Agriculture Department shared by the Washington Post, families will spend about $310,605 throughout a childhood's upbringing — or about $17,000 a year raising a child.
When it comes to how much people are making a year, Zippia says that the average median American salary is $50,000.
Expenses when raising a child can easily eat up most of that salary each year when you have a two parent household. It hits even harder when it's a single parent household.
A church in Tuscaloosa that describes themselves as "passionate about the good of the city, the redemption of people, & the glory of God" will soon hold an event to help alleviate an expense for some moms in Tuscaloosa.
Hope City Church Tuscaloosa announced on Facebook that they will hold a free oil change event for single moms in the city.
To be a part of the event, moms have to sign up to ensure they receive an oil change.
The event is scheduled for April 1st.
Currently all spots have been filled for the event but there is a waitlist. Moms who hope to receive an oil change can still join the waitlist for the upcoming event.
To join the waitlist, single moms are encouraged to send an email to Amy@hopecitytuscaloosa.com.
