Stillman to Name New Football Coach, Athletic Director
Stillman College is preparing to introduce the leaders who will guide the next chapter of its athletic department and the return of Tiger Football.
The college will announce its new head football coach and director of athletics during a press conference and pep rally Thursday, Oct. 1, at Birthright Alumni Hall on the Stillman College campus in Tuscaloosa.

The event will begin with a pep rally at 3:30 p.m., followed by the official announcement and remarks beginning shortly after 4 p.m. Media check-in will begin at 3 p.m.
Stillman College President Dr. Yolanda W. Page will officially announce the college’s new athletic leadership during an event designed to have the atmosphere of a Tiger pep rally. Stillman’s band, cheerleaders and Golden Perfection dance team will be part of the celebration.
The incoming head football coach and director of athletics will also deliver remarks outlining his vision for Stillman Athletics and plans for rebuilding the college’s football program.
The announcement represents another major step in Stillman’s preparations for the return of football and will give the Stillman community its first opportunity to hear directly from the person selected to lead that effort.
Stillman has not revealed the name of the new coach and athletic director ahead of Thursday’s announcement.
The press conference is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m., with remarks expected at approximately 4:05 p.m. The event will take place inside Birthright Alumni Hall at Stillman College, located at 3601 Stillman Boulevard in Tuscaloosa.
College officials are framing the announcement as the beginning of a new chapter for Stillman Athletics, with the incoming leader taking responsibility for both the overall athletic department and the rebuilding of Tiger Football.
The combination of a formal press conference and pep rally will allow the college to introduce its new leadership while involving students and the broader Stillman community in the celebration.
Stillman College announced earlier this year that football would return to the institution, setting the stage for the rebuilding of a program that has been absent from competition in recent years. Thursday’s announcement will provide additional direction for that process as the new head coach lays out his vision for bringing Tiger Football back.
