Wilbur Jackson will be honored alongside John Mitchell at Saturday's A-Day game. The pair broke the color barrier of Alabama football over 50 years ago as the first two African American athletes in program history.
Mitchell will be honored at the 2022 A-Day football game along with Wilbur Jackson as the first two African American football players in Crimson Tide program history. Mitchell won two SEC Championships as a player for the Tide and won a national championship as an assistant coach at Alabama as well. He currently serves as Pittsburgh Steelers assistant head coach.

The Alabama Crimson Tide's spring season officially came to a close last weekend with the A-Day game in Bryant-Denny Stadium. The White team emerged victorious over the Crimson team 13-10, therefore, per tradition the White team got to celebrate by eating a steak dinner while the Crimson team was relegated to hotdogs and beans.
The Alabama running back group is lead by senior, Brian Robinson who did not participate this A-Day. However, The white team was lead by Roydell Williams who had 12 carries for 43 yards and 4 catches for 65 yards. Crimson team saw Jase McClellan shine out the backfield as well with 12 carries 46 yards and 7 catches for 62 yards.
