Black History Makers of Alabama is honoring 2022 Miss Alabama Collegiate America. Imani P. Muse is a University of Alabama student who believes that “small acts matter.”
While attending the Capstone, Mr. Pernell along with 4 other students became the first five black players to walk on to the historically segregated Crimson Tide football team.
Dr. Johnson is a fourth-generation college graduate from Butler, Alabama, who has devoted her life and career to promoting the value of higher education. She has led colleges and universities to higher levels of academic and operational excellence, with an emphasis on improving student outcomes and serving the diverse needs of all students.
Joseph Eatmon Sr. is Shelton State Community College's first African American head coach in school history. He's living black history right here in Tuscaloosa.
