Alabama is currently nationally ranked in 11 sports and has impressive athletes competing in all the athletic programs. The football team lost a crop of talent after the national championship with the departures to the NFL, that begs the question, who are the top 10 athletes at The Capstone right now.

In their Monday morning “College Basketball Power Rankings,” ESPN ranked the Alabama Crimson Tide (13-3, 8-0) in the top 10 at number eight. This three-spot jump from No. 11 continues the steady growth in notoriety for the Crimson Tide men’s basketball team. To add to the success, Alabama moved up to ninth in the country in the latest AP poll.

One night after suffering an 18-point loss to Stanford, the Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the UNLV Running Rebels in the Camping World Maui Invitational. Alabama made 15 3-point shots in the game to pull away from the Rebels on its way to an 86-74 victory.

Alabama basketball is officially underway in 21 days. Oats enters his second year with a roster that he can call his own. The Crimson Tide has depth and experience on the roster leading to high expectations for this year's team.
