Former University of Alabama second baseman Peyton Wilson has agreed to a full slot value deal with the Kansas City Royals. Wilson was drafted with the No. 66 overall pick in the 2021 MLB First Year Player Draft last week. His agreement with the Royals pays him $1,003,300 according to Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline.
Former Hillcrest Patriot and Shelton State catcher Colby Smelley was drafted with the No. 395 pick in the MLB Draft by the Chicago White Sox. Smelley, selected in the 13th round, was just the second position player selected by the White Sox in the draft.
