The Paul Bryant Stampede (1-7) capitalized off of clutch plays from their running back and defense to defeat the Brookwood Panthers (4-3) on homecoming night 23-18, claiming its first win of the season.
On a cool, autumn night in Cottondale, Ala., fans on both sides filled the stadium for Paul Bryant High School’s senior night, and watched the Paul Bryant Stampede(1-4, 0-2) upset the Central High Falcons(2-3,1-1) 31-7 in a non-regional, cross-town rivalry, their first win of the season.

Friday Night Lights are setting up across the state as high school football starts a new season. In Cottondale, Ala., on a humid Friday evening, the stage was set for the Tuscaloosa County Wildcats to defeat a cross-town, non-conference rival, the Paul Bryant Stampede, 59-34.
In an email to parents the Tuscaloosa City Schools announced that football tickets for Bryant High School, Central High School and Northridge High School will not be sold at the gates and can only be purchased using GoFan.
Auburn University wide receiver, Seth Williams, will declare for the NFL Draft, according to Matt Zenitz of AL.com. Williams led the Tigers in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns as a junior. The 6-foot-3 receiver is a 2018 graduate of Paul Bryant High School.
After several teams took the week off last week to prepare for the second half of the schedule, most of Tuscaloosa county is back and ready for more area play. Three different 6A Region 4 matchups might be the difference makers for teams to make a playoff run. In addition, several surprise teams have matchups that could affect their comeback seasons.
