When the Volunteers make the return trip to Tuscaloosa next season lets remember the standard that we hold ourselves to. The Crimson Tide stands for excellence and class, regardless of the treatment of rivals or questionable officiating on the field.

Former Alabama defensive back Brandon Turnage has announced on his Instagram this week that he would change his plans and join the Tennessee Volunteers. Turnage had previously stated he was going to enroll at the University of Georgia but changed his plans after the Bulldogs acquired former Clemson cornerback Derion Kendrick.

Last week the University of Tennessee made the decision to fire head football coach Jeremey Pruitt amid several recruiting allegations that have overshadowed the program. Additionally Phillip Fulmer resigned from his position as athletic director, leaving holes in two leadership positions for the Vols to fill. Tennessee moved quickly and hired Danny White to be the new athletic director and this morning it has named Josh Heupel as the new head football coach.

It was announced Monday morning that Tennessee head coach Jeremy Pruitt has been fired “for cause” after an internal investigation found alleged NCAA violations within the program, as reported by Pete Thamel of Yahoo Supports. Pruitt finished his tenure in Knoxville with a 16-19 overall record.
