Comedian LP, an avid basketball fan, has put together a premier charity event to spread the joy of the season while raising funds and donations for those less fortunate.

Residents in West Alabama are asked to form their squad, pick a festive team name, and start practicing their jump shots, crossovers, and team handshakes.

LP's 1st Annual Christmas 3v3 Shootout Tournament sponsored by Townsquare Media benefiting Toys for Tots will take place on December 17th at the Bobby Miller Center in Tuscaloosa at 1p.

"If there’s any way I could help at least a little bit I will," LP said.

"I love kids and they are our future. No child on earth should feel as though they have to miss out on Christmas and the excitement of the holiday."

Teams can enter the tournament by paying a $25 registration fee and spectators are asked to pay a $5 entry fee or donate a new, unwrapped toy upon arrival to get in free of charge.

Proceeds from the team registration fees and ticket sales will go towards Toys For Tots as well as the new toys donated at the event.

Teams will match up against other teams for fast-paced 3v3 games to 12. The winning team takes home the inaugural Shootout trophy and, more importantly, the satisfaction of giving back to the community.

Between games, spectators can enjoy live music music, food, and all the usual holiday revelry. There will be a chance to meet LP in person and snap a few pictures as well.
