The Druid City Baseball League Kicks Off Their Season This Weekend
The Druid City Baseball League will celebrate its opening day Saturday, May 14 from 9a-2p at the McDonald Hughes fields.
The community is invited to come out and celebrate the start of the season of the Druid City Baseball League Jamboree. The event will feature food, fun, and music by Townsquare Media's Big Dawg DreDay.
"We are extremely excited about this newly formed youth baseball league. This is our 2nd season and we want the entire community of West Tuscaloosa to come out this Saturday to support our young new baseball players," said Jay Logan, the Director of community outreach for PARA."
"This is a partnership with PARA, the Benjamin Barnes YMCA, and our newly formed partner the World Champion Atlanta Braves."
Back in March, PARA announced its partnership with the Atlanta Braves RBI programs.
"This program is intended to bring resources and support to organizations providing accessible opportunities to baseball and softball across Braves Country. We are grateful for this partnership, and for the kids that will experience the game we so love," said Danielle Bedasse, Braves Senior Director of Community Affairs and Executive Director, of the Atlanta Braves Foundation.
Games scheduled on opening day include Tee Ball, 6U, 8U, and 12U.
Jay Logan is inviting the community to "Bring positive energy to the event. Music, fun, food, and of course baseball."
