It's been announced that the Marching Maroon and White of Alabama A&M University will lead the 97th Edition of the Macy’s Parade.

According to AlabamaA&M University, the telecast will air from 8:30 AM to 12 noon live on NBC in all time zones. Fans can also stream the broadcast on Peacock. The Spanish language simulcast on Telemundo will be hosted by the network's daytime personalities, Carlos Adyan and Andrea Meza.

This is a big deal for Alabama in general as Alabama A&M will make history as the first HBCU band to lead the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Because Of Them We Can reports that band director Carlton Wright first got the idea to be in the parade after seeing Hampton and the University of Alabama participate in the parade.

“I went to my laptop and visited the Macy’s website, and I found the application on there. Right away, I just started typing in the application on Thanksgiving morning two years ago,” Wright told reporters.

According to Alabama A&M, the parade performance isn't the end of the excitement.

The beautiful Dancing Divas will be featured in a special performance with the famous Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall and the band has a few other surprises that will fill its schedule while in the Big Apple.

Congratulations to Alabama A&M University. This is truly a huge accomplishment and serves as a reward for the years of hard work.
